A mutual friend of both of ours (Ross) invited each of us to celebrate the New Year at his house in Bay St. Louis. Each of us knew every single person there but had only heard of each other. When Blake (who everyone caled Bubba) arrived, I ran out to help him bring in his groceries. I reintroduced myself but of course acted like I knew him for years (as I tend to with people). I remember he looked confused but with a big smile, welcomed the help. I remeber he had on his classic cowboy boots and that was an instant plus. He cooked his famous chicken and sausage gumbo that Friday night and the rest was history....JK, but the gumbo was so good that I wanted to learn more about this mystery man. I had found a man that cooks which are hard to come by! We hung out more that weekend enjoying a bon fire on the beach, a night out on the town, several dance parties, and some version of a drinking game that resulted in Blake swapping his jeans with our friend Molly for her pair of black spanx leggings. Still not sure how he managed to get then off! We shared a drunken but very much remebered New Years kiss in the middle of a packed dance floor at midnight when we rung in 2018! That wild and wonderful weekend came to an end but not without us exchanging numbers first. This was the beginning of our love story and one that I would never want to rewrite. Cant wait to marry you Bubb and make us forvever!
