FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Given the temperature variations, a good strategy is to dress in layers. A semi-formal or cocktail dress for women, with a jacket or shawl for the evening, is a safe bet. Men might consider a suit and tie or a sports coat, as the weather is still too warm for heavy suits. The ceremony will be held outside so you may want to choose shoes that are comfortable for walking on grass or uneven surfaces. Please refrain from wearing burgundy/maroon and white/cream!

Question

What is the easiest way to get to the venue?

Answer

Pleasant Hill is in the East Bay area of the San Francisco Bay Area. The closest major airport is Oakland International Airport (OAK). San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is also a viable option. For getting around the area, having a car is recommended.

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes, on-site parking will be available! We highly recommend carpooling if you plan to have a fun, adult-drink filled night :)

Question

Will the ceremony or reception be held indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will promptly start at 5pm outdoors at the beautiful gazebo. The ceremony will be followed by an indoor reception just steps away to comfortably dance the night away! In case of bad weather, a back up “rain plan” will be implemented and communicated prior.

Question

What is a money dance?

Answer

The Filipino money dance is a traditional wedding custom where guests pin money to the clothes of the bride and groom as they dance. Also known as "sabitan" or "sayaw ng pera," this tradition is more than just a financial gift. It's a joyful way for friends and family to wish the newlyweds good fortune, a prosperous future, and to personally share their support and blessings. The money dance is a fun and interactive part of the reception that strengthens the sense of community and love surrounding the couple. The process is simple and fun: 1. Get Ready: When the emcee announces the money dance, guests who wish to participate should get a small amount of cash ready. 2. Line Up: Guests will form a line to dance with the bride and groom. 3. Pin the Money: As you take your turn to dance with either the bride or groom, you'll pin the money to their clothing. Pins will be provided for this purpose. 4. Offer Your Best Wishes: This is your chance to share a quick word of congratulations, a hug, or a wish for their future before they move on to the next guest.
