Getting to Birdsall HouseGetting to Birdsall House

Birdsall House is a 10-15 minute drive from Malton in North Yorkshire. Malton is easily accessible by train from York, with a scenic 25-minute journey running approx. four times an hour. This is a remote, rural location, so if you need a taxi to and from the venue, you must pre-book with a local taxi firm. We've listed recommended taxi services below. If you're driving, event parking will be clearly signposted on the day. Cars can be collected on Sunday.

There are only a handful of rooms at the venue, reserved for the bride, groom, and immediate family. For some family and guests, we have arranged accommodation at Langton Hall. If you're staying there, we'll be in touch directly with check-in details. A minibus service will shuttle guests between Langton Hall and the venue throughout the day of the wedding, so no need to arrange taxis. You can find a link to the Langton website at the bottom of this page. Most guests will need to find accommodation in the Malton area, or in York.

Due to limited accommodation near the venue, we expect around 40 guests will need to stay in York. To get to the wedding, there's a 25-minute train from York to Malton, then taxi from Malton station to the venue (best pre-arranged). For the end of the night, we've arranged a coach from Birdsall to York city centre, departing at 12:30am and dropping off near Memorial Gardens. We recommend booking a hotel in this area, where you'll also find easy access to York train station. Suggested hotels are listed below. A taxi from York directly to Birdsall House takes around 40 minutes (19 miles) but may take longer in Saturday traffic.
