Haldi/ Mehendi

The haldi is a prewedding ritual common at traditional Indian weddings. It is celebrated on the wedding day or one day prior to the wedding day and is usually a close-knitted event. The closest family, relatives and friends come together on this auspicious occasion to apply turmeric paste (haldi) on the bride and groom's face and body. In Indian customs, turmeric's bright yellow colour is highly auspicious. The couple, who are beginning their new life together, is blessed with prosperity thanks to the good fortune of this element and its colour.
Sangeet
6:30 pm - 11:00 pm
The word sangeet is Sanskrit for "sung together" and is another traditional Indian prewedding ceremony involving lots of festive dancing and celebratory songs. The ceremony involves celebrating the new couple while bringing together their close family members and friends to celebrate the onset of their new journey together.

get ready to party DAY and night :) A baraat ceremony is a joyous wedding procession in Indian culture where the groom, accompanied by his family and friends, travels to the bride's home to signify his arrival for the wedding, marked by dancing, music, and celebration, essentially symbolizing the groom's journey to unite with his bride and join the two families together; it's considered a key part of an Indian wedding ceremony highlighting the excitement and happiness leading up to the union.

The wedding ceremony itself is early due to the need to observe an auspicious time to be wed, which is called muhurat. That muhurat is at 9am!

Reception
6:00 pm - 11:30 pm
An Indian reception ceremony is a celebratory party held after the wedding ceremony, where the newlywed couple, along with their families and friends, gather to dance, eat, and officially mark their union as a married couple. A grand party to conclude the wedding festivities!
