Andrew and Marie met for the first time at a revival movie night in December of 2016. We were friends for all through 2017 to 2019, evengelizing and going on hikes together with our community of friends. We went to Israel and Peru with our church family as well as attending many events & conferences. We connected over our love and respect for Todd White and Dan Mohler's teaching to live as uncompromised children of God. It wasn't until the fateful year of 2020 where we moved forward to becoming more than friends. February 18, 2020 is when Andrew officially asked Marie to be his girlfriend and she said yes! During the dating stage it was a power struggle between us. Even though we entered this relationship with marriage in mind, we were too strong-willed for our own good.
Through many trials and error, we finally came to the end of ourselves and surrendered fully to Jesus. During the majority our dating season, we got caught up in the deception that all these relationship books, sermons, and psychological theories would change our circumstances for the better. We've tried it all, and they all left us dry. All the "I'm right," and "you're wrong" was keeping us from seeing what God had for us as a unit. Even with much teaching and theology, without revelation of the truth, we saw each other as the problem. We had still not fully died to ourselves. All the while it was our individual selves that God was wanting to shape and grow. Regardless, these trials of fire only refined us and increased our resilience as a couple and as children of God. As we faced obstacles together, we learned that our strengths and weaknesses complemented each other. Our strory truly begins March of 2021. We call it the "RESET" of our relationship. After alittle over a year of struggling to do things that seemed right in our own eyes, we fasted and surrendared ourselves to Jesus. From March to Now, all the way to July 3rd, God has taken us on an accelerated journey in growth in living by faith. With much help from our pastors, mentors, faithful friends and family, we are fighting the good fight of faith to stay in the will of God, diligently seeking in ways to renew our minds daily. We got the venue of our dreams, support of our family, and the apartment all set to move in on the day of our wedding! It looked impossible at first but Testimonies are still rolling in each day!!! We will take our vows publically before God and all of our beloved friends and family and we cannot wait to celebrate the day of our covenant with you! So be very careful how you live, not being like those with no understanding, but live honorably with true wisdom, for we are living in evil times. Take full advantage of every day as you spend your life for his purposes. And don’t live foolishly for then you will have discernment to fully understand God’s will. Ephesians 5:15-17 TPT
