in Utah and Arkansas
We were both swiping through Mutual one day and swiped right on each other at nearly the exact same time! We started chatting a bit -- Tony messaged first :) Almost right away we knew we had to meet, so we quit the chit chat and figured out when we could meet up. Luckily, Ashley was heading to Utah the next day for a work trip so we met up for dessert. We laughed, overshared, and enjoyed some amazing cookies and that was that!
We were doing a final walkthrough of our soon-to-be home with Ashley's sister and nephew. After we finished up, we had to get something to eat -- there were definitely some hanger vibes eeking out :) As we were just about to pull out of the driveway, Tony said that he forgot to take a picture of something in the back for our realtor and inspector. Sneaky sneak. He ran off to the back and then messaged Ashley to come around. There he was, in the beautiful backyard of our future home, tears in his eyes and definitely nervous. He said a bunch of really nice things (Typical Tony) and then started fumbling through his words (not Typical Tony). It wasn't until he started getting WAY nervous that I knew what was happening! He asked. I said yes. We cried and then celebrated with Chipotle on the river's edge while watching the sunset!
We originally planned on having a wedding in July, however, due to COVID-19 and the shutdowns/travel restrictions, we were unable to realistically plan our ceremony, sealing, and reception(s). With the uncertainty of scheduling venues, flights, and a temple, we decided to get married in a private, civil ceremony near our home in Little Rock, AR. It was perfect. We still intend to celebrate with all of you wonderful family and friends. A reception celebration will happen ... at some point. We can’t wait to celebrate in person with all of you!
