We recommend using Uber to get around the city — it’s safe, affordable, and very convenient for visitors. Uber is widely available in Mérida and works well for short trips to restaurants, shops, and attractions. Please note that Uber cannot pick up at the Mérida airport, but it can drop you off there. For airport pickup, you will need to use a taxi or another authorized transportation service. For exploring outside the city (such as cenotes or beaches), you may also consider renting a car or hiring a private driver for the day. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Recomendamos usar Uber para moverse dentro de la ciudad: es seguro, económico y muy conveniente para los visitantes. December is one of the best times to visit Mérida! The weather is warm and pleasant, with daytime temperatures averaging around 75–85°F and cooler evenings in the 60s°F. Most places in Mérida accept credit and debit cards, but we recommend letting your bank know you’ll be traveling internationally to avoid any issues. That said, it’s always a good idea to have some Mexican pesos on hand—especially for street vendors, tips, or smaller businesses that may not take cards.
