Bridesmaid
Our mothers grew up together and so did we! Growing up, we spent many weekends at each other's houses destroying the kitchen with a crazy recipe we made up and throwing our own two-person dance parties. Melissa is a talented artist that is active in Wichita's art community. She has remained one of my closest friends for over two decades. Catch her on the dancefloor groovin' and movin' because I know FOR SURE she will be out there.
Bridesmaid
Cait and I met when we were basically babies and I don't remember how it went, but it must have gone well because we're still best friends. What I DO remember is summers spent together at the pool, listening to all the alt rock bands we love too loud in the car to drown out us singing along, and very *artsy* makeovers and their subsequent photo shoots to document our fun. We shared the experience of being the big sister to our respective siblings, but Cait managed to also be my "big sister" at the same time. She is the person I turn to for support and advice and will no doubt be keeping me sane through out this entire wedding process.
Bridesmaid
Hayden and Melissa met in middle school, but I got to know her in high school and college. Melissa is the leader of the pack, the organizer, and the hardest working person I know, and honestly, I'm not totally convinced she sleeps. Whenever we travel together, she manages to perfectly balance exploration and relaxation so we get the most out of our time together. She is a wearer of many hats, from actress to social media manager to political activist, and yet, she handles everything with an ease and enthusiasm that cannot be copied.
Best Man
Nathan has been preparing for this day ever since I was the BEST Best Man in his wedding. Naturally, with such (metaphorically) large shoes to fill and the pandemic climate, he has had his work cut out for him. He has risen to the occasion, making, remaking, unmaking, and remaking plans again and again to fit the conditions as things change. From less than friendly beginnings to the best of friends, our journey together has been long, funny, and legendary. I couldn't have a better friend by my side on this day.
Groomsman
Cousin. Activist. Tipsy Philosopher. Chef. Basically Spider-man. All of these things describe Michael Guerrero, and many more besides, but today, the thing that is most important to describe him is, Friend. We have so much shared history, that trying to pick just one detail is difficult because it is the sum of them that is important. Michael's first question when I asked him to be a groomsman was "Are you both ready for this?" and someone who cares that much about us deserves a place in my wedding, and I couldn't be happier that he agreed.
Groomsman
Being a man of many degrees, a poet, a francophone, and an all around "got his stuff together" kind of guy, Andrew submitted his own bio for this web page. It was engaging, beautifully written, heroic, and 13 incredible chapters long. I read it, loved it, and promptly lost it, so this is what you get instead! Andrew is an incredible friend that never fails to challenge me and is one of the few people in this world that understands that some statements are meant to be misinterpreted. Amelia and I are thrilled to have him in our wedding, and really just our lives in general.
