It was July summer of 2019, I went to the gym like I always do. This guy by the name of Gabriel walked up to me and was curious about my name, he said “the trainer here always talks about you but I never got your name”. I told him what my name was and now every time I walk into the gym he spots me from a far so he can yell my name. Everyday I go to workout Gabriel yells ”AMELIA”! I thought it was embarrassing for the couple few times he did because I’m a very shy person and don’t like attention. I got use to it at this point I was curious to get to know him better so I ask what his name was and from there we made small talk. We hyped each other up in the gym and add each other on Facebook. We both talked about how our last relationship wasn’t great at all so we were skeptical about starting a relationship after we’ve both been single for a while but we gave it a try and it’s been a journey to remember and much more to come. We officially started dating October 25 2019, When I mentioned that I’ve never been to a haunted house so he told me about a couple of them that we could choose from and that was our first date.

It was a month after he got back from being deployed and we were talking about when can we make plans to see each other again and he starts making all these excuses about how he was really busy with getting back on schedule from being deployed and he has to put the request in to get the time off. He even stated that it’s an 8 hour drive and his car was all messed up so it’s going to be a while before we see each other, not knowing the whole time he was planning to surprise me. His sister and his brother were all in on it but I was blindsided to it all. At first I thought it was weird that she was coming to visit out of the blue but I didn’t think anything of it. She texted me and asked if I wanted to hang out with her, go to church and then have brunch afterwards, I was totally up for it, plus I haven’t seen her in a while so I was excited. Back in January I got baptized and my pastor was supposed to give me a certificate for it but he never did, so this was part of the whole plan to make it look like I was being rewarded for my certificate. He called me up on stage and I remember standing there all nervous not knowing what to do, he didn’t have the certificate on hand so he told me to stay where I was and that he was going to get it and right then and there gabe came out from the back doors with my certificate in his hands and all I could think was I’m I dreaming or is this real life, I just stood there in shock for so long before giving him a hug that’s was the best surprise ever and I thought that was the end of it but it wasn’t. That same week they all wanted to go for a walk in the park, where we went on our second date right after our first one. I didn’t think anything of it I just thought we were all bonding and having a good whole afternoon stroll. We stumbled upon this bridge in the park where we took some photos four years ago and his sister made a comment and said we should redo our photos. Here we are taking the photos then he started carving our initials on the bridge but I noticed that he put A.J for my initials instead of A.M which are my real initials, I asked him about it and if I remembered correctly he said those are my initials now and I’m standing there staring at it and sneaked behind and I turned around and there he was on his knees with a ring in his hands asking me to marry him!
