Yes! We would love for your kids to come and celebrate us. While kids are invited, we also know you may want a kid-free weekend to come and celebrate, and that is wonderful too! Just be sure that you let us know whether or not your kids will be joining when you RSVP. We will provide a babysitting service after the reception dinner so that if you choose to, you can send your kids to do some crafts and watch a movie at the hotel next to the reception site. We will also have kid-friendly meal options and provide some fun activities throughout the weekend to make the event fun for all ages!
We have blocks reserved at hotel blocks in Sackets Harbor. You can check the "Travel" tab for more information!
We are so excited to see everyone's photos of our wedding weekend. We are asking that during the ceremony, you put your phone away so that the photographer can capture that moment. During all other times and events though (welcome party, reception dinner, dancing, etc) we would love to have everyone taking photos and for you to share those photos with us!
If you are staying in Sackets Harbor, the venue is walking distance from the Barracks Inn or a quick drive or slightly less quick walk (about half of a mile) from the Harbor House Hotel. If you are staying in Watertown, you will want to drive and there is plenty of on-site parking at the venue.
Our dress code is semi-formal. This means that for men, a suit (tie not necessary) or slacks and a button-up shirt. For women, this means cocktail-length or longer dresses, slacks/skirt and a blouse, or a nice jumpsuit. Part of the wedding will take place on a dock, so be careful wearing shoes with a slim heel, as it may be more prone to getting stuck between the boards. For kids, put them in whatever you have in their closet! While I love a kid in a suit or fancy dress, no need to go out of your way to buy something specific for this occasion. This should go without saying, but no white, please.
While weather is unpredictable, it will most likely be warm in Sackets Harbor in mid-late August, with temperatures ranging from 75-85 and a chance of rain. Plan for some light layers in the evening as we will be on the water and it may get colder as the sun goes down, but will likely stay fairly warm the entire time.
Anything you want! We know most people are traveling in on Friday, so there is no need to get dressed up for the welcome party. We want you to come whether you are in sweatpants and a tee shirt or if you want to get more dressed up!
