Not at campsite, but we will provide address of where there is cell service.
There will be running water and bathrooms. There is no showers at campsite, but there is a OCEAN to jump in. LOL The group sites will have two bathrooms that are designated to us. In addition there are multiple bathrooms with flushing toilets in the main campground. Choose your own adventure :)
We usually go to Big Sur in Brian's purple 98' tacoma known as, "Yoda". Brian has one CD in there and as soon as the Bixby bridge is in sight, we play on repeat, the "Boys & Girls" album by Alabama Shakes. We invite you to download the album and have an "immersive" camping experience as if you were driving down with us! :)
To those who aren't familiar with the California coastline, regardless of how warm it is during the day, the temperature usually drops about 10-20 degrees at night. Layers is key! Also PLEASE know it's 100% acceptable and encouraged to change into comfortable, camping clothing for the second half of the evening. Hoodies, jeans, leggings, zip ups, etc.
Flashlight or headlamp for when the lights go down. You can buy a pretty nice headlamp at REI for about $20. Sleeping bag, tent, sunglasses, pillow, batteries for your headlamp, slip on shoes, beach towel, sunblock, camping chair, water bottle, water, beanie, a good attitude. We know many are coming from out of town so if you need help with camping equipment please let us know.
We're going to try and talk to as many people we know with walkie talkies to see if they will let us borrow them for the week. There's no way we'll be able to have one for everyone or even the majority, however we are aiming to make sure our "camp counselors" have walkie talkies. If you have your own walkie talkies, great! Please bring them!
We will be providing food and beverages for the day of the wedding and for the clean up crew. Otherwise, please make sure to plan ahead for your other meals.
The group sites are booked from May 1st through May 5th. Check out will be Friday, May 5th at 12pm.
There is a diner and general market close to the campground in Gorda, 3 miles south of the campground.
We're more concerned with everyone being comfortable than what people will be wearing. But if you need some slight guidance, we would recommend sundresses, something to wear over it if the wind picks up, FLAT SHOES (flip flops, ballet flats, ankle boots). Seriously, the ground is uneven. It wont be fun if you're in any type of pumps or heels. In keeping with Big Sur and spring time, if we had to pick a color "scheme", we'd say go for earth tones meets spring colors.
Text or call Brian at 916-956-0483 or Amel at 585-943-1601 and we'll get back to you ASAP!
