It all started at Centennial Campus Middle School in Raleigh, NC, back in 2006 or 2007. Ambur was friends with Jerel’s twin brothers—yes, Jerel is a twin!—but what began with a simple hug soon blossomed into an unbreakable friendship. Their bond carried through high school at Southeast Raleigh Magnet School. Living just around the corner from each other in Southgate and Foxridge, they grew up side by side. Their shared love for Mathematics and Science placed them in some of the same classes, and in passing, they kept up their tradition of hugs—never knowing this was only the beginning. Through the hallways, by their lockers, and through life’s twists and turns, they remained constants in each other’s lives. Jerel, a dedicated athlete, thrived in baseball, swim team, and soccer, while Ambur pursued leadership through Gospel Choir and Sisterhood groups. Both valued extracurricular activities and, for three years, walked home together almost daily. Graduating in 2011, they became lifelong Bulldogs, carrying their ambitions into adulthood. Though they pursued their goals separately—Ambur at Louisburg College and Jerel at Wake Tech—life carried them in different directions. Yet, birthdays, social media interactions, and occasional check-ins kept their connection alive. After 12 years, they decided it was time to truly reconnect. Jerel, still passionate about soccer, played in three leagues while taking on a leadership role at work. Meanwhile, Ambur fulfilled her dream of becoming a business owner, returning to school to become a Licensed Esthetician in North Carolina. A simple invitation to a soccer game reignited their time together. From there, their relationship flourished—filled with traveling, movie nights, and workout sessions—all while catching up on lost years. Then, on December 31, 2023, standing on top of Lovers Leap Mountain in Virginia, Jerel dropped to one knee. In that moment, they transformed from childhood best friends to soulmates, stepping into forever as fiancés—until the day we say, "I DO" and become ONE!
