We met as coworkers at Holub Middle School in 2018. For years, we exchanged brief, friendly conversations in passing—nothing more than colleagues sharing a hallway. But in 2021, after returning to campus post-COVID, our paths began crossing more often. What started as simple smiles and casual chats turned into deeper conversations and unexpected connection. A mutual friend suggested Ambresha help Maurice with meal prepping. Grocery store trips and home-cooked meals soon turned into laughter, bonding, and something neither of us saw coming. On Cinco de Mayo, over dinner with friends, Maurice casually said, “I notice your favorite color is yellow.” He was right—and that small moment left a big impression. Just days later, on May 14, he asked her out. By May 22, we had our first date—and from that night on, everything changed. What began as passing glances has turned into forever. And now, we’re so excited to begin our next chapter—as husband and wife.
