I officially started working at Kyber but I joined the Kyber golf league – with Kyle – in May. The love story starts with a simple Teams Chat asking if he wanted to grab drinks after work. He agreed to but then shortly after decided to leave work early without telling me. Essentially, he blew me off… TWICE. We eventually decided to go on an actual date one night after golf. But as tradition goes, a coworker asked if anyone wanted to grab food at the club house and we both agreed to. So the three of us sat the bar (coworker Bob sat in the middle) & we drank some beers and shared a pizza. We’ve been inseparable ever since. Eventually, we went on a real first date but this is the one I remember. Kyle officially asked me to be his GF at a cheerleading fundraiser at Mohegan Sun while I had a mouth full of French onion soup. He also doubled down at the same time with his first, “I love you”. I’m guessing it was the way I ate that reeled him in. Kyle hung out with me and my roomie at the time (shout out to An! – MOH2) and I officially asked him to move in on Christmas Eve 2018 with THE BEST series of Christmas presents anyone could ask for. I am a great gift giver. We became best friends and will always be for the rest of our lives. Then came the big question on Thanksgiving 2020. We were at Kyle’s dad’s house in NC. I was on the couch watching Cats the Musical with his step mom when Kyle came over and asked if I wanted to go to the dock. To which I responded, “Do we have to go right now? I am watching Cats.” When we got to the dock, I stared at him and asked what we were supposed to be doing. He looked around & asked if I wanted throw a line in (the fishing pole was right next to us). I agreed to and he asked if I knew how to fish. I was greatly offended by this. Of course, I do. Sort of. When I reeled the line in, I turned around and Kyle got down on his knee. And the rest is history! History that contains me holding a fishing pole for all our engagement pics.
