One day in early 2020, the stars aligned and we matched on a dating app! Our plan to catch a live concert in Austin together soon hit an unexpected roadblock when the world shut down due to the pandemic. But our connection only grew stronger through messages and FaceTime calls as we awaited our first date. After a few months of virtual bonding, we finally got to meet in person at Mt. Bonnell, one of Austin’s scenic gems. As we sat together watching the sunset, time seemed to stand still. The conversation flowed effortlessly, and beneath the stars, we both knew that this was more than just a first date. The rest, as they say, is history. With a shared love for the outdoors, live music, cooking, and new adventures, we quickly became each other's go-to person. In a world that was constantly changing, the one thing we were always certain of, was each other. Steele didn’t just gain Amber in this relationship; he also welcomed Guinness, Amber's adorable dog, into the family. Over time, the three of us created our own little slice of perfection. Then, one unforgettable day in Big Bend National Park, on top of Emory Peak, Steele popped the question. And, naturally, Amber said 'Yes'! Together, we’ve learned that the best adventures are the ones we create side by side. We’re incredibly grateful for the love and friendship we’ve found in each other. Bonnell, paired with Thundercloud Subs. - July 2020: Officially Official – Steele asked the question, 'Will you be my girlfriend?' while we were floating in the pool at Amber’s apartment. Spoiler alert: The answer was “Yes!” - April 2021: Moving In – Amber (and our furry sidekick, Guinness) moved into Steele’s cozy East Austin house. - September 2022: Our First Home – We took the leap and bought a house together in South Austin. - November 2023: The Big Bend Proposal – Steele surprised Amber with a proposal in the middle of an 11-mile hike in Big Bend. - April 2025: The Big Day – We’re tying the knot and celebrating with all our favorite people.
