Should I get a rental car?

Answer

This is a personal decision and depends on how much you would like to explore the island. A car is needed if you plan to explore anywhere outside of 30 minutes from the wedding location. The Big Island is very BIG for an island. Uber & Lyft exist, but can be unreliable at times. If you plan to stay in Kona then perhaps you can get by with Uber & Lyft. Check out Costco and Turo for more cost effective car rentals.

What is the weather like?

Answer

The weather in Kona will most likely be in the high 70s to low and mid 80s. It's a tropical and humid environment. Kona is considered the dry part of the island and doesn't get much rain, but there is chance for quick light sprinkles that allow for beautiful rainbows to form. Different parts of the island have different climates.

Are children allowed at the wedding?

Answer

Children under the age of 13 are not permitted at the wedding and reception. The only young children at the wedding are those involved with the wedding party. However, children are more than welcome at most of the other events.
