Five years ago, in the midst of college life, our paths crossed for the first time at UW-Stout. I was a freshman, and Ryan was a junior. We shared mutual friends, and his friends had the ultimate party house where everyone went to on the weekends. One night, we were both at that party house, and we both noticed each other from across the room. Ryan approached me with his roommate and introduced himself with a sweet handshake. We chatted, and he even challenged me to a beer pong game. We played, we won, and as the night went on, my friends eventually left. They made sure Ryan knew to get me home safely, and so, as the party ended, Ryan walked me back to my dorm. On the way, he cleverly asked for a tour of my newly remodeled dorm, and I showed him around. We ended up spending hours talking until the sun came up. We discovered so many similarities the more we kept talking. That morning, I called my best friend and said, “I think I just met my future husband.” For the next few months, we built a friendship, and slowly that friendship blossomed into love. After three months, we officially started dating, and the rest, as they say, is history.
