How We Met - Peter's Version

Amber and I first met at Brooklyn Public House when I was tending bar there and she had come in at least once before, months prior. I distinctly remember having messed up Amber's food order that time and being very embarrassed because I thought she was cool. So I don't see Amber again for almost a year until September 2nd 2016 when she shows up and hangs out for a while. Only difference is this time it's not particularly busy so we start chatting and basically didn't stop all night! She made fun of me for having red hair, I kept refilling her wine, and at the end of the night she grabbed me for a kiss. We hung out that whole weekend but I had booked flights to Ireland for a couple of days later. As soon as I came back from Ireland we were basically inseparable. It's been the best years of my life so far and I'm so glad Amber decided to come into the bar that night.

How We Met - Amber's Version

It was the Friday night of Labor Day weekend, 2016. My only plan was to grab a late bite and a drink or two somewhere and for whatever reason, I decided to venture 20 minutes away to Brooklyn Public House (despite the dozens of options available within a 5 minute walk of where I lived in Prospect Heights.) I went in by myself with the company of a notebook like the kewl kid I am and figured I'd eat, write for a bit, and be back home in and in comfys in no time. I vaguely recognized Peter (hadn't noticed what a babe he was) but we'd never really talked before. It was relatively dead though, and we got into conversation right away. I ordered a glass of wine and a turkey burger. I could hear myself trying to flirt with him by asking what kind of cheese he recommended and felt like an ass hole for it immediately. He just smiled and said "grueyer is nice!" I found it very strange that he called cheese nice but I was amused and went for it. We talked and laughed the night away from there. I'm pretty sure I only asked for that first glass of wine and somehow it stayed full the whole night. And what was meant to be a quick bite somehow turned into me closing the bar. At that point, Peter nodded to his buddy Sean (groomsman) who proceeded to usher everyone out of the bar immediately after close and he came around and sat with me for a drink before shutting down. All part of the lead up to when HE leaned in for a kiss. (Don't believe his lies.) We haven't gone a day with out talking since that night and I couldn't be happier or luckier for it.

A riff on a classic. We met at the bar on 9/2. I stayed until the wee hours of 9/3. It wasn't long before we were talkin bout forever. And if you don't know this song, you're welcome. https://open.spotify.com/track/0PV1TFUMTBrDETzW6KQulB
