SushiStop Sawtelle North
This sushi spot is on a really cool street full of Asian cuisine called Sawtelle. When I was living in Chicago, Nick's apartment was right off this street and Sushi Stop was always our first stop after he picked me up from the airport. Super delicious and cheap - we would recommend the Dynamite and philly roll. If you're looking for a more upscale sushi experience this is not the place to go - for that we would recommend Sugar Fish!
Urth Caffé - Santa Monica
Your LA visit really isn't complete without a trip to Urth Caffe. It is the epitome of overpriced hip and healthy food, but really is a fun and unique eating experience! and nothing says LA like $16 avocado toast:)

A great, casual seafood place right across from the ocean!
Ingo's Tasty Diner
A hip, upscale diner that is sure to impress. The prime rib french dip is to die for.
Noma
One of our favorite sushi spots! For the incredible quality and authenticity, the price is hard to beat.
El Cholo
Honestly, nothing rivals NWA Mexican food, but this comes close! Super yummy restaurant with a cute outdoor patio that was founded in 1923. Best coconut margaritas!
The Bungalow
One of the coolest bars in Santa Monica. With an great ocean view, this beach house styled bar is a great palce to grab an overpriced beer and enjoy the sunset.
Big Dean's Ocean Front Cafe
The best bar in the world, HANDS DOWN (Nick is writing this). Come swing by this hidden gem, directly under the Santa Monica pier, to enjoy a Big Deans Signature 32OZ draft beer. This is a great day drinking spot for affordable beer and unbelievable burgers.
NIGHT + MARKET Sahm
This place is our favorite Thai restaurant in LA. Located near the heart of Venice, this place is some of the best, authentic Thai food that you'll find. Their family size portions are a must-eat for Pad Thai lovers.
The Waterfront Venice
This boho beach bar is a really cool new spot, located right on the Santa Monica/Venice boardwalk. With a taco shack attached, this bar is a great place to grab a pitcher, or two, of Pacifico and play some ping pong.
