How We Met

10/31/2012

We met at a Halloween party, not interacting much until Matt become a rockstar taking out his guitar. He charmed me with his playing however we went our separate ways after the party; not even getting each other's contact info. Matt found me on Facebook, sent me a message asking me out on a date. I took a chance said "yes" and we've been together ever since.

The Proposal

1/1/2021

The Proposal was probably the most heart pounding moment in my life. It was like standing atop a high cliff and standing on the edge and looking straight up and the tingle and heart racing you experience would be the closest I could describe about it. I decided the year before to ask Amber to spend the rest of her life with me. I often get asked why? Well my proposal and if she said yes would be my way of showing her that I am going to be here for a long time not a short time. I First asked her Mother (Monica) and Father (Moise) for each of their blessings for their daughters hand in marriage and when I go the go ahead i made the plans for Mexico. I planned a trip to Puerto Peñasco Mexico aka Rocky Point and planned on proposing on 1/1/2021. We rented a RAZR a type of ATV and drove up Competition Hill in Rocky Point Mexico. My plans almost fell apart when it came to the climb to the top of the mountain that over looked the sea. Amber was a bit terrified of the climb and the unsteady rocks after all there was not trail to the top but more of a free climb. It took some time but through some encouragement and support we were able to make it to the top safely. I had everything riding on her making it to the top so that I could pop the question! And she just thought I was a bit crazy to want to see a view from atop a hill in Mexico! lol on any other day i would agree with her but like I said I had more planed on this climb than the views. When we got to the top she took a look around and was almost immediately ready to get down lol and here I was making every excuse I could to stall haha. I wanted a private moment between her and I and there was some other people in the area that i was waiting for them to leave. took longer than I wanted I mean at one point I'm pretty sure i asked her to look at the ocean like 4 different times and to take in the views more than once lol. And when the time came I dropped to one knee with the ring box in my hand and i looked in to her eyes as she faced the warm sunlight and the sea behind me atop a mountain in Mexico and asked her to Marry me and presented the Blue Sapphire Ring...… She said "Yes" and at that moment my heart exhaled a huge relief cause she could have said no and that would have been an awkward climb down lol. The act of placing the ring on her finger for the first time the felling was better than riding a perfect line down a mountain on my mountain bike!
