How we met

Fate plus a little digital matchmaking led us together early January 2019. After a week of long talks through the night, making each other laugh and think differently, we met in-person in Petaluma (half-way) for our first date on January 13th. We met at the Buckhorn, a dive bar, to watch football. The attraction between us was instant and electric. We played pool - clumsily - nervous and excited. This was the first and only time Amber ever defeated Matthew in anything (so far). We carried on to a late-lunch at Traxx where we learned about our shared love of Tahoe and family, and similar backgrounds filled with close-calls and a "YOLO" lifestyle. From there, we bowled several rounds at the Petaluma Bowling Alley when we really confirmed how competitive and playful we both are. And just like our prior phone conversations, we had a hard time parting ways that day. The distance between Santa Rosa and Burlingame didn't stop Matthew from courting Amber with twice-weekly visits and yellow roses while battling terrestrial downpours on work nights. Seven months later, Matthew climbed out of the country and Amber out of the downtown life to forge their new home base in Novato. And the rest is history.

What's up with #Luckyinlove-2.8.20?

A brief intro on hashtags and what "luck" has to do with it

What's a hashtag? A digital tag used in captions when posting videos, photos and updates to your social media channels, like Facebook and Instagram. Using our wedding hashtag - #Luckyinlove-2.8.20 - pulls all content associated with it together for consolidated viewing. It's a fun way to document wedding activity additional to the actual wedding, too. What luck has to do with it? We both feel extraordinarily lucky to be alive, first and foremost, and to have been paired together. Serendipity, on so many levels. Some would say "#blessed", we say "#luckyinlove".
