The year was 2009 and it was the weekend of the biggest SWAC rivalry football game, JSU v ASU. I went out with my sister Adrienne to the local nightclub, Freelons, to celebrate and dance all night! As she and I are two-stepping to the beat, I see her speak to a guy who went to high school with her. It was Marques! He introduces himself to me, with a big smile , and shakes my hand. He then offers to pay for another round of drinks for Adrienne and me. I take his money, head to the bar, and then the DJ makes an announcement over the music, saying, LADIES DRINK FREE FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT! Of course I grab our free drinks, walk back over to Marques, and hand him his money back. It was probably at this moment he realized, I WAS THE ONE! And I've been saving him money ever since!
