As of 1/26/2021 the United States is requiring all persons 2 and older to provide proof of a negative covid test taken within 72 hours at TSA to re-enter the country. I am assuming that you will have to show when leaving Mexico and entering the US.
No, at this time there is no requirement from the government to provide proof of a negative test within 72 hours. We are heavily suggesting that you have a Covid test the week of your departure to Cancun to ensure that you may not unknowingly have a positive test (this may occur due to unknown recent infection, or known recent infection.)
This answer is convoluted so please bare with me...... Currently the policy of Royalton Resort is that they are offering free testing, on-site for all guests. In the event of a positive resort they are offering a complimentary 10 day quarantine. HOWEVER...this policy is only effective through march 31,2021. I am more than aware that this does not really help us as it does not include the time frame in which we will all be at the resort. I am in ongoing communications with the resort on how this will be handled post the 31 of March and what if any expectations/guarantees we can expect from them. I have been assured that rapid, on-site testing WILL available to us however the cost could be $110.00 and if there is a positive test the outline on quarantine cost etc remains unknown at this time. I have been told that by February we should have more insight. This is beyond frustrating I know.....
I feel this way on many levels so I completely understand those who feel this way. We are hoping that the free 10 day quarantine will be extended to our guests (currently all policies are only through 3/31/21), but are subject to continuance. One thing that I thought about was the fact that you can shorten your stay to be only 4 days 3 nights; test the second day you are in Mexico. This provides you with a test and results within 24 hours of coming to the resort (it could ONLY be positive if you had COVID when you left the US) and within 72 hours of re-entering the US. This would ensure that you would have a negative test unless you had /contracted COVID prior to leaving the United States.
Yes, yes , yes!!! This is an EXCELLENT option for those that want to partake but are unsure of long travel with testing demands etc. For example, if you test on Friday morning (rapid, in the US) fly out Friday afternoon/evening, then return back to the US Sunday anytime you will still be in the 72 hour window of your initially test take in the US.
This decision is difficult and personal. We want you all to know that we don't want to place anyone in harms way. We know that each of you will have many pros and cons to this decision and we also want you to know we support whatever you choose. In these difficult times we must remain true to what we must do for ourselves and each other. We want you there, but we want you to know that we also have a live stream for the wedding too!!
We totally understand! We will miss your presence greatly but we understand that in leu of the changes to travel it makes an already unknown situation that much more scary. Everyone's reservation and travel are different and subject to various refunds, fees etc. For all the questions around refunds etc please contact Katie with Legacy Travel at (972) 517-9130. I hate that all these changes are occurring and we deeply apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused anyone.
If you are expereincing any symptoms of Covid including but not limited to cough, fever, chills, fatigue, loss of taste or smell (both), body aches, shortness of breath or receive a positive test please do not come. Anyone experiencing these symptoms should quarantine and seek out medical care if you feel you are having a medical emergency.
This is an evening wedding and reception. The attire is semi-formal to formal. We want everyone to have a blast and look their best.
Yes! Please do!!
The ceremony is on the resort at the gazebo. The ceremony with start promptly at 5:00 p.m, we ask that all guests leave their room no later than 4:40 to ensure that they have arrived and been seated prior to the start of the ceremony.
Great question! To ensure safety at the wedding all guests will be provided with a pink, medical grade surgical mask for the ceremony and reception. Wearing masks in Mexico is not currently mandated and will be at your discretion, but STRONGLY encouraged. All staff wear masks at all times.
* While on the plane and in the airport I suggest a face shield and surgical mask. * When you arrive to your room disgard the clothing that you wore during travel at the entrance, shower and change. Do these things prior to sitting on your bed etc to help prevent germs from invading your room. *Bring cleaning wipes, spray and sanitizer. Although the resort has increased cleaning protocols tremendously it can only help if we reinforce it with our own "wipe down" . *Don't come to Mexico and lose your mind. be smart, wear your mask, wash and sanitize your hands. No of these things are a requirement just some tips on additional ways to prevent the spread of COVID.
