We met how most people meet these days, on the Internet! In 2017, David and I were both in our poetry era. He posted a story on Instagram with a poem, and I happened to buy the book and post a poem from the same book. David immediately replied and we had our first conversation. A month passed by, and on January 27th, 2018 David reached out again (after some liquid courage) at 3 am, saying he had an “awkward but serious question,” which was asking me to get dinner sometime. On February 1st, we had our first date at SAGA Hibachi; the rest is history. David greeted me with flowers, and we talked and laughed all night.

David proposed in Joshua Tree Nation Park at Key Views. It is one of the most magical places you can watch the sunset in the desert. After moving across the United States to California together we went on numerous adventures exploring anywhere we could within a driving distance of Los Angeles. I immediately fell in love with Joshua Tree, it is truly like no other place in the world. The first time we went we went to Key Views I was in complete awe and now it is even more special. When David proposed, I was so excited. He asked to take a picture of me, and after I turned around, he was on one knee asking if I would stay with him forever and continue to rock his world (I always joked that that’s what I always dreamed of because I used to watch a lot of Rock of Love). Max, Dave’s best friend was there in disguise to capture the whole thing. We later went to Pappy and Harriet's to celebrate, and I was surprised to see all of our family and friends there too. It was truly the highlight of my whole time living in California. I am so happy I was able to share such a special day with everyone. Now we're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you!
