We're Getting Married!

In February of 2021, Cullen was putting together a coed volleyball team and needed more girls to join. As fate would have it, Amber was the only girl on the free agent list, so he sent out an email asking her to join. After a few games and getting to know each other, Cullen took a chance and asked Amber out. Their first date—an evening of Mexican food and a movie—was just the beginning of something special. A few dates later, they made it official, their friend groups blending and embracing each other like they had known one another for years. Soon after, Cullen faced a decision: go to a country concert with friends or spend the evening with Amber and her mom. Choosing the latter, he knew Amber was the one. Two and a half years later, after landing teaching jobs in Fort Morgan, they took another big step—moving in together. Together, they tackled it all: the challenges of their first year of teaching, finishing college, and adjusting to life as a couple in their new home. Amber had known for some time that Cullen was the one. She didn’t need a grand gesture to know that he was her best friend and the person she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. And while she may have dropped a few not-so-subtle hints about a ring, she knew the question was coming—she just had to be patient and let Cullen take the next step when the time was right. Then, in March 2024, on a beautiful beach in Mexico, Cullen knew it was the perfect time for a grand gesture. Spoiler alert: she said yes!
