I was sitting alone in the cafeteria at our college working on some homework when Caiden asked if he could sit with me. We talked for a couple hours until we both had to get to classes. We exchanged phone numbers and quickly became best friends. We would meet almost every day for lunch and he would walk me to my classes. Caiden would even walk up to my dorm just to give me a hug when I was having a rough day- that's when I knew that we might be more than just best friends.
I had a huge crush on Caiden and one night we were talking about the fact that we both liked each other so I mentioned maybe we could try dating. I thought Caiden actually didn't like me since he said he didn't want to date because he didn't want to ruin our friendship. I invited Caiden to my dorm's Halloween party that year and little did I know that the reason he said that he didn't want to date me was because he has a surprise. He surprised me at the party with a clay rose that he made me (roses are one of my favorite flowers) and asked if I would still be willing to be his girlfriend.
Peaks of Otter Mountain off of the Blue Ridge Pkwy is one of my favorite places in Lynchburg. Caiden surprised me with fall pictures up there. During the pictures he looked at me and said "Amber you mean the world to me and I love you more than I could ever express" and proceeded to get on one knee and ask me if I would marry him. Of course I said YES.
