Arthur and Amber served in the same mission in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Some highlights: same district, leadership in the same zone, and he was the AP that drove her to the airport when she went home. Though they talked a little after Amber went home in March 2022, they were friends until July of the following year when their beloved mission president and his wife came home to Colorado. They went on a trip to see them with a group of friends (hey phatties) and started to connect during their week there. Her side: when he first came into the lake house with the others in his car, I didn’t know what to do or say. I wasn’t sure he would even remember that we were friends while on the mission. After he did some flirting with me throughout the trip, I was reassured and texted him on my way home to keep the conversation going. A few weeks later, feelings were felt and shared, and it was all downhill from there. His side: a few days before our trip to Colorado I thought about what it was going to be like to see her again. We had texted a small amount but nothing extensive. When we finally got to the lake house I wasn’t sure how to talk to her so I kind of avoided her instead haha. Luckily, things got a little easier for me and we were able to spend some time together. From there we stayed in contact when I went back to Arizona and her Utah. After texting and video calling for hours on end I finally moved out to Utah and from there the rest is history :)

Amber had wanted to paint together for a while, since it's a hobby she doesn't get many chances to explore. On a Monday, after an all nighter from school and between classes, she got ready for a paint date in the park. He proposed with flowers and photos of them in the scenic fall weather, and rushed to class for a presentation a few hours later. They celebrated the night (after a few sweet calls with friends and family) by getting a nice dinner with friends/ the future wedding party.
