On our first date, Tony picked me up at my Maid of Honor, Adrienne's, house in Ventura. Cleary trying to make a great first impression, Tony wore flip-flops and boardshorts. I will admit though he was sweet and opened the door for me! Being my best friend and always looking out for me, Adrienne watched this unfold live on her home surveillance cameras after demanding that I send her a picture of his license to ensure she had all his info. We weren't even out of her neighborhood before she was texting me with her concerns about my date. Tony decided to take me to Santa Barbara for dinner. Nice, right?!? When we arrived we must have done about five laps up and down State Street looking for a restaurant that he didn't even know the name of. He walked about ten feet ahead of me very frustrated that he could not find the restaurant. We finally settled on a hole-in-the-wall sushi stand that didn't serve alcohol. Yes, we were both completely sober during this experience. After we ate Tony not wanting the date to end suggested we see a movie. Not having any movie in mind we decided to pick one when we arrived. Out of all the movies we could have watched together on our first date, Tony insisted on watching Dunkirk (IYKYK). Needless to say, planning a wedding with Tony was the furthest thing from my mind that night and quite frankly not even an option. Little did I know a few (four and a half to be exact) years later he would plan such an elaborate, well thought out, and absolutely perfect proposal and surprise party bringing us to this very exciting next chapter!
