Mount Teide

Mount Teide

La Orotava, CN 38300, Spain

Mount Teide is a volcano on Tenerife, which is the highest point in Spain and the highest point above sea level in the islands of the Atlantic. How to get there: You can go up from almost any point of the island. By car it is best to drive up the Esperanza road (from La Laguna), with one of the best views of Teide and then go down through La Orotava. With a little luck, you will be able to contemplate the phenomenon of the “Mar de nubes” or sea of clouds on the way up or down and enjoy the viewpoints along the route (for example the Mirador de Chipenque). We recommend: Have a coffee or beer at the Parador Nacional - breathtaking views. Tip: Bring sunscreen and also warm clothes, you never know what weather we may encounter up there.

Whale Watch Tenerife

Whale Watch Tenerife

Adeje, 38660, Spain

Discover Tenerife’s Marine Wonders: A Whale and Dolphin Watching Adventure Tenerife boasts an incredible marine biodiversity, with the Atlantic waters surrounding the island home to over twenty different species of marine mammals. The island’s southwest coast is particularly famous for whale and dolphin sightings, where large pods of tropical pilot whales and majestic sperm whales can often be seen. Set sail from Los Cristianos or Puerto Colón on a daily boat tour that brings you close to these amazing creatures. You’ll have the chance to witness pods of whales swimming together—if you’re lucky, you may even catch them playing or communicating with one another in their natural habitat. This is a unique experience that nature lovers don’t want to miss!

Visit the Northeast

Visit the Northeast

San Cristóbal de La Laguna, CN, Spain

San Cristóbal de La Laguna: Unesco heritage colonial city, essential to walk and get lost in its historic center, resting in any of the bars that you will find along the way. This is one of Amber & Alexander's favourite places on the island. To eat Vinoteca La Reserva, Canarian and Spanish food tapas in one of the most atmospheric streets in La Laguna. Santa Cruz de Tenerife: Capital of the island, with notable buildings such as the TEA or the Auditorium, a pedestrian center with a variety of shops and La Noria street with its restaurants and outdoor terraces. To eat, Bodegón el Puntero: small place with typical Canarian cuisine in a lively area of Santa Cruz. Guannabí on La Noria street, market food in a pleasant environment. Taganana and Benijo: Spectacular black sand beaches with surfing options - the road to get there is already impressive. Anaga Rural Park: Natural Park with laurel forests, with many paths and viewpoints how Pico del Inglés.

Garachico and surroundings

Garachico and surroundings

Garachico, CN 38450, Spain

Garachico: Former capital of the island of Tenerife, destroyed by an eruption in 1706. Very well restored colonial-style historic center, with good restaurants. Natural pools formed by lava. To eat, El Rebojo: Nice restaurant in the center of Garachico, with refined Canarian cuisine and surprising dishes – highly recommended. Buenavista del Norte: Canarian banana plantations, golf course designed by Severiano Ballesteros. To eat, El Burgado: The best kept secret on the island, fresh fish and cold beer with Mesmerizing sunsets, just by the sea. Icod de los Vinos: Ancient dragon tree, one of the symbols of the Canary Islands, and maybe even the greatest treasure of Canarian flora and Butterfly Park of El Drago.

Visit the South

Visit the South

El Médano and La Tejita: Fishing town, with promenade, cafes and beaches. Windy area perfect for kitesurfing. To eat Casa Pana: Restaurant with a pleasant terrace and specializing in Canarian food. Candelaria: Place of pilgrimage to the Virgin of Candelaria ( Saint of the Canary Islands). Recommendation, have a beer in one of the bars in Plaza de la Candelaria, eat camarones and burgados (local food). Approach the cave to see the virgin.
