We met through a mutual friend. They asked Nick to follow me on Instagram but I really didn't want to follow him back. He stayed as a request for a while. Our friend kept insisting for me to follow Nick back so eventually, I listened. Initially, I didn't know how to feel about the situation because I'VE NEVER MET THIS GUY! So I thought to myself, "he's just going to be another lurker." Two days later! Nick decides to reply to one of my stories. I was feeling very sad, it was a school day, the weather was gloomy, and I was stressed! Out of all the followers I had in my account he was the only one who decided to check on me and hit me with a, "Yo you good??" It was then that the love sparks began. This is the true definition of love at first sight.
Amayrani really wanted to get engaged right on our anniversary date, Sep. 26 but it was cutting it too close. If I really wanted to surprise her I had to get her off guard. After meeting her for the first time in person, asking her to be my girlfriend at Disney, and gifting her a promise ring. I just knew I had to go above and beyond for the proposal. It was the hardest thing to do! At first, I knew she felt it coming so I had to throw her off. I lied to her and told her that the reason I made the trip was that it was my turn to come to see her and to celebrate our first year together but the engagement was going to be postponed for December. Broken-hearted she believed me. Little did she know the proposal was set to be the day after our anniversary! The plan was to take her horseback riding, have her ride to Mount Hollywood, and surprise her with the big question. As soon as she saw the setup and her family peeking through she knew it was time. With tears in her eyes, she said, "YES!" We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in North Carolina!
