Is there a dress code?

Men are not required to wear a suit! Shoes are optional at the beach ceremony. The cocktail hour will be held in the Garden Terrace, which has uneven flooring. Comfortable shoes or wedges are recommended - skinny heels are not.

Where will the wedding ceremony be?

Answer

The Ceremony will be on the North Beach across from the hotel. Please arrive 10 minutes before the ceremony time.

Do I need to attend ceremony on the beach?

No. Reception to follow at the Old Captiva House.

Will food and drinks be served at the reception?

Answer

Yes. Please let us know of any dietary restrictions when RSVP’ing.

Yes, the wedding ceremony on the beach, the hotel, and the reception are all walking distance from each other.

Are there any other events we can attend?

Yes, there will be a Welcome Party on Friday night at the Serenity Pool and a breakfast on Sunday morning (location To Be Determined). Check the "Schedule" page for updates.

Will there be a schedule available?

Yes. The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception are already scheduled (see "Schedule" page). As soon as we finalize details for the other events, we will update the site.

As much as we love your little ones, we prefer this to be an "adults only" wedding. Of course if you are unable to arrange for their care, they are welcome to join us.

How do I book my hotel stay?

Answer

Call reservations (239) 472-5161 Press "#" then "600." Be sure to reference the Alvarez/Betz Wedding May 2022 to receive your 10% discount for minimum 2-night stay. Discount rate will be applied once the event's 10-guest minimum is reached. The hotel will confirm your reservation 30 days prior to the event to offer cancellation insurance.

What should I wear on Captiva Island?

Answer

Our easy-going, outdoor lifestyle translates to casual, informal attire, both day and night. Shorts and sandals are the norm. Restaurants range from simple outdoor cafes to elegant candlelit dining rooms, no jackets required. Retail establishments generally request shirts and shoes.

Yes!
