It all started with a very respectful Instagram message where he simply asked, “He’s cute. What is your dog’s name?” Before replying, I did what any sensible girl would do. I looked at his Instagram and thought, wow, he is handsome and intelligent. I better reply to this DM. So I did, and from that moment on, we have not stopped talking. After a month of texting, calling and FaceTiming, I knew Kadar was serious about getting to know me because he decided to fly from St. Louis to Houston to meet me. He stayed in an Airbnb, and I was so nervous, but my mom and little brother kept saying, “Do not be nervous, go on the date with him.” The moment I saw him in person, something in my heart knew he was someone special. What began as a simple question about my dog became the first spark of a love story we are still writing today.

On April 12, 2025, Kadar created the engagement of my absolute dreams and I had no idea it was coming. He pulled off the biggest surprise by bringing my family all the way from California and his family from Georgia. Everyone I love, all in one place, just for this moment. What I thought would be a simple dinner at a nice restaurant turned into the most unforgettable day of my life. At McGovern Centennial Gardens, the love of my life and my best friend asked me to marry him. To do life with him. And of course I said yes. Just when I thought the surprises were over, we went to dinner and I walked into a private room filled with my closest friends waiting to celebrate us. There was even a live saxophonist playing our favorite songs. Every detail was intentional and overflowing with love. This day still gives me chills and warms my heart all at once. I am so grateful for God, for love, and for the way two big balls of love found each other and are now becoming one. And this is only the beginning of our forever.
