Amar had a friend in business school (Natasha) who was always on his case about being single. Amar wasn't impressed with her matches and Natasha would complain to him, "You are just too picky!" One day, Natasha went to a family party where she met a girl named Teja. Teja was smart (a doctor), she was funny (told naughty jokes), she was loving (loved her nieces and nephews and her doggy) and she was cute (look at those cheeks!). Natasha conspired and much to their parents' relief, she set them up together. For their first date, Amar took Teja to an Italian dinner in the mission where they chatted, drank wine and debated over "what is a parsnip?". Over the next three months, they went on 24 dates (yes, they counted). Teja liked that Amar was funny (witty and sarcastic), intelligent (an intense book worm), honest and hardworking (Midwesterner), an adventurous eater and that her dog loved him. Picky Amar thought 24 dates was quite enough so he asked Teja to be his girlfriend with 24 beautiful roses. They stopped counting dates after that...Over the next two years they traveled far and wide...from Chicago to New York, all over California, Oregon, Sedona, Bali and Iceland. They met each others families and were delighted to learn that they are the youngest on both sides...ie spoiled babies. Wherever they went, they felt right at home with one another. One day while hiking in Joshua Tree, Amar gave Teja a beautiful emerald ring and asked her to be his wife. Teja burst into tears and she said YES! Both of them are happy, excited and grateful to have found each other. They planned a big, fat, Indian Wedding in 2020 but Covid changed their plans. Instead, they are overjoyed to have a more intimate wedding with their closest family, who they love. This wedding will have all of the things they cherish- majestic nature, a little adventure, food, wine and lots of laughter. They cannot wait to celebrate and make memories with you in Mendocino, where the land meets the sea.
