Two months into receiving blessings from our Guru, Mahant Swami Maharaj and our families, Amar started planning a proposal way beyond Heemali's dreams. Heemali had given Amar two specific directions; to keep it intimate and not to spend his entire savings on it. He listened to one of the two directions. Amar had told Heemali to keep May 8th (their first anniversary) free because he was supposed to have his wisdom teeth removed and he would need a driver. Heemali knew he was upto something but went along with it. Fast forward a month later, Amar told Heemali to change the date to April 2nd because of "scheduling conflicts." Again, she went along with it and Amar was now knee deep into planning, asking Heemali a lot of random questions and validating all of his planning with her closet friends. On the afternoon of April 1st, Amar showed up to Heemali's house as she was getting ready to go out with an envelope labeled “Clue # 1” and a decoder. Inside the envelope was a picture of the two of them and a clue on the back that read, “Be ready by 10 am in casual clothes.” The next morning, Amar showed up at 10 am on the dot with clue number 2 which would be the start of a scavenger hunt. In order to get the next clue, Heemali had to decode the riddle, each riddle leading to a special place in their relationship. After traveling to the spots of their first date and some others, Heemali and Amar landed at Roosevelt Park, another special place in their relationship for a picnic. Amar had prepared a full meal along with a fake park permit. While they enjoyed their lunch, Amar explained to Heemali that he had to change the date because he couldn’t get a permit for the original date. Heemali being as gullible as she is, went along with. Moments later, Amar set up his phone to record a video, to which Heemali even told him to turn it off, but he refused. He then pulled out a red box, making Heemali wonder if he really was going to propose in the park? However, out came the final clue. They were headed to the city, another special place in their relationship. Amar then dropped Heemali and instructed her to change into something fancy. Amar showed up to Heemali’s house with his parents and he had even gotten everyone else involved in his plans. While they were taking pictures outside, a limo pulled into Heemali’s street, a complete shock to her! They were headed to the city in a limo! Heemali still had no idea where in the city they were going. What felt like forever later, they both were dropped off in front of the Freedom Tower, the same place where they watched the sun set on their first trip to the city. Amar had managed to block off an entire section of the Observatory to propose at sunset. They walked in hand in hand down a path of rose petals where Amar finally got down on one knee and asked Heemali to marry him. Heemali exclaimed an excited yes and the rest his history! The man of her dreams had found yet another way to sweep her off her feet!
