Our story began on social media, however according to him it started long before that on the campus of Texas Southern University. We were both students there. Our paths had crossed long before I ever took notice. While I was unaware of his presence, he had quietly noticed me all along, often seeing me around campus and admiring me from afar. A couple years later, this confident Igbo man made his move by sending a message on social media. His exact words were “Nne, the soft life looks good on you’” As an Igbo babe, I couldn’t help but laugh—but little did I know that one message would mark the beginning of something truly beautiful. Fast forward to a breathtaking evening in Santorini, on the eve of his birthday, when he asked me to spend forever with him. His birthday gift to himself - to wake up on his birthday with me as his fiancé. & just like that, our forever began.
