On this day, Amara and Joe had an unexpected encounter...Amara's best friend invited her to go out with her, her boyfriend, and his friends. Reluctantly she said yes... Fast forward to that night, Amara walked in to her friend’s house and literally ran into Joe. I mean literally, because Joe was on a hoverboard, drinking beer, wearing a cowboy hat, and singing some god awful song on the radio. She was immediately drawn to him and pulled her friend aside asking, who the hell that was? At the time, Joe was stationed at Miramar, San Diego and would visit his best friend in Fullerton every weekend. That weekend changed their lives. Later that night when everyone got back from the bars, Joe and Amara spent the entire night talking. Amara was supposed to go to a friend's brunch the next morning, but obviously never made it. Later that day, Joe and Amara parted ways, but he made one mistake—he didn't ask for her number. After a lot of pleading and bribing Amara's best friend, he got her number that same day. Since then Amara and Joe have talked every day for the past three years.

October 17, 2015 - Joe tells Amara he loves her. November 1st, 2015 - Joe asks Amara to be his girlfriend. March 18th, 2016 - Joe deploys to Bahrain. July 29th, 2016 - Joe buys an engagement ring while still deployed— she had no idea. September 25th, 2016 - Joe returns from Bahrain. October 10th, 2016 - Amara moves to San Diego to live with Joe in their first apartment. April 1st, 2017 - Amara and Joe rescue their dog Maverick. June 3rd, 2017 - Amara and Joe go to Thailand. Amara meets Joe's extended family for the first time. October 1st, 2017 - Joe deploys to Kuwait. April 6th, 2018 - Joe returns from Kuwait. May 19th, 2018 - Amara and Joe go to England to meet Amara's newborn nephew. June 17th, 2018 - Joe asks Amara's parents for her hand in marriage. July 27th, 2018 - Joe proposes to Amara and she says, “Yes!” October 4th, 2019 - Joe and Amara will say "I Do!”
