Our love story began in medical school and continues to grow. It was biochemistry that broke the initial seal, or should I say bond. Rohin was as studious as ever and when I looked over at him in that library, his charm and hard work exuded from across the study hall. After introducing myself to him and exchanging a few words, I left feeling a sense of confusion because it was my first time meeting him, yet all I could think was how great it was to see him again. I felt that I had known him forever and till this day that feeling brings me to tears.
It was finally time to prepare to pop the big question. I knew how much Amy loved living in south Florida so I knew I had to incorporate elements of the beach into my proposal. I decided to propose at the Ritz-Carlton hotel on Amelia Island. I spent weeks obsessing over every small detail from the decor, to the music, to even the food. I coordinated with the hotel to arrange a private surprise dinner with a beautiful waterfront view. I worked with the chef to customize a 4 course meal with all of her favorite foods. I used our anniversary as a way of making sure she would bring a beautiful outfit (and ensure her nails would be done). I will never forget the look on her face when she walked outside and saw the entire setup. At that moment, I got on one knee, and asked her the most important question: "Amy, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife? Will you marry me?" I knew what the answer would be, but when she said yes, I was overwhelmed with emotion.
Our Rokha was a magical day filled with love and excitement! It was the first time our families met. We spent the night partying and celebrating together as one big happy family! Rohin's family was so warm and welcoming and they made sure to give us a grand welcome into the family.
