Gibson Mill was a 19th century textile plant, and now a local gathering spot with craft breweries, a food hall, and an antique mall. If you go to the antique mall, look for a stall selling Richie Hill cheese straws - a local favorite. At Cabarrus Brewing, try the Sour Drop Sour Ale and cheese curds. Gibson Mill is a 5-minute drive from Downtown Concord, or a 35 minute walk.
Rocky River Golf Club is a public course and down the road from the Embassy Suites. The hotel provides a shuttle. Guests of the hotel can play for a discounted rate.
We aren't exactly NASCAR folk, but Concord is NASCAR country. If you're looking for a thrill, try one of the driving experiences or get a Speedway tour. There is also a bar and restaurant overlooking the tracks. The Speedway is a 5 minute drive from the Embassy Suites.
