Michael and Amanda met during their junior year at Boston College while working as resident assistants. Their early activities included going on runs around Newton, grabbing dinner at Stuart Dining Hall, and attending church on the weekends. Eventually their relationship went beyond the BC campus, when they decided to go on their first date to Amanda's favorite Italian restaurant in Boston's North End. By senior year, they were inseparable, and Michael's roommates kept a tally on how often Michael was unavailable to hang out because he "had plans with Amanda." Over the last six years, Amanda and Michael have enjoyed many adventures, including a road trip to the Florida Keys, a trip to Munich, Germany, and most recently a trip to Italy! After three years of long distance, while Amanda finished up her Nurse Practitioner program, and Michael started Medical School, they now live together with their cat, Beau, in Philadelphia.

Michael surprised Amanda while she was on a weekend trip to Boston to visit her sister. Amanda thought Michael was home in Philadelphia studying for a medical school exam. She was absolutely shocked when Michael showed up in the Boston Gardens while she was snapping a photo with family! He got down on one knee and popped the question, and of course she said yes! Both their families were waiting in the crowd, ready to celebrate!
