Arriving in Thailand Most international flights will land in Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), where you can easily connect to a domestic flight to Chiang Mai. Flights between Bangkok and Chiang Mai (CNX), operate frequently throughout the day, and take approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Visas & Entry Many nationalities can enter Thailand visa‑free for short stays, but requirements vary. Please check your government’s travel advice before travelling. Staying Connected We highly recommend purchasing a prepaid SIM card with data upon arrival. It’s inexpensive, extremely helpful for using maps and ordering transport. Getting Around Using Grab (Thailand’s Uber) Grab is the easiest way to get around Chiang Mai. Download the app before you fly, and add your payment details in advance. Tuk‑Tuks: A charming local way to travel short distances. Make sure you agree on the fare with the driver before you go (but should be approximately ฿100 - 200). Scooter Hire Scooters are easy to rent and available throughout the city, though best for confident riders. Typical cost: ฿200–350 per day. Please note that a passport or cash deposit is often required—this is standard practice. If you’re unsure, Grab is the simplest alternative. Currency Thailand uses the Thai Baht (THB). Cash is handy for markets, tuk‑tuks, and small shops, but most hotels and restaurants accept cards. ATMs / money exchanges are widely available. Weather & Clothing Chiang Mai can be warm during the day and cooler in the evenings. Light, breathable clothing is ideal, along with comfortable shoes for walking. For temple visits, please remember to keep shoulders and knees covered. Health & Comfort Thailand’s tap water isn’t drinkable, so bottled or filtered water is best. Sunscreen and insect repellent are a must.
Car Hire & Parking A hire car isn’t necessary for city travel but can be useful for exploring mountains or national parks. On the wedding day, parking is available on‑site for guests who choose to hire a car.
Plus ones We’ve chosen to keep our wedding intimate, which means that only those named on the invitation are invited. We truly appreciate your understanding, as this helps us create the celebration we’ve envisioned. Children Regarding children, we want everyone to be able to relax and enjoy themselves. Ideally, little ones can be left at home or with a carer. However, if this isn’t possible, please let us know — we’re happy to speak with the venue to see whether childcare support or suitable facilities can be arranged.
