FAQs

Question

What travel documents do I need?

Answer

(1) Your passport. Make sure the expiration date is at least 6 months after your arrival date. (2) Your driver's license if you plan to rent a car.

Question

Where should I fly into?

Answer

If you are traveling from the U.S., we recommend flying into Nice, Marseille, or Paris. If you are visiting Paris first, you can make your way to the South of France either by: (1) Three-hour train to Marseille 🚆 (2) Domestic flights to Nice, Marseille, or Toulon ✈️ (3) Renting a car and taking a multi-day road trip through Burgundy and Rhone Valley 🍷

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

We recommend renting a car if you plan to travel around Provence and/or the French Riviera. If you decide to rent a car, you will need your driver's license. For short trips, you do not need an international driver’s license. We also recommend buying a toll pass in advance. Check our Travel section for links to rent a car and buy a toll pass. There is a free overnight parking lot in Cotignac; check our Google Maps list for the pinned location. If you decide not to rent a car, please make arrangements in advance for traveling to Cotignac. You can book airport and train station transfers through Moov83 at +33 6 79 43 67 75 or on their website moov83.com

Is there a shuttle to and from the wedding?

Answer

Yes. We will have buses departing from Cotignac and Chateau Nestuby at 4:30 PM. There will be shuttles returning to Cotignac and Chateau Nestuby from 12:30 AM to 3:30 AM.

Question

Is there parking at the Chateau?

Answer

Yes, there is plenty of parking at the Chateau if you decide to drive yourself.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

The wedding is black-tie optional, so think full-length gowns and suits - or a tux if you're feeling fancy! The ceremony and reception are outdoors and it will be warm, so we recommend light, breathable fabrics. For footwear, keep in mind the grounds outside are mainly gravel.

Question

What else should I do to prepare for the trip?

Answer

(1) Get an eSIM card for Europe 📞 (2) Bring an adapter for European outlets. Keep in mind European voltage is 220-240v 🔌 (3) Helpful apps to download: Google Translate, Google Maps, Uber, The Fork (to make reservations) (4) Save our Google Maps list: https://maps.app.goo.gl/iF543BTMrsx8ZrBp8 📍 (5) Let your bank know when you will be in France. Convert some cash into euros in advance, just in case 💶 (6) Visit the Travel section of our website for helpful links, recommendations, and a sample itinerary for Provence and the French Riviera 🏖️
