Koumbaro

Traditionally, there are no bridal parties in Greek Orthodox weddings. Rather, wedding ceremonies include the couple and one other person, a koumbaro. A koumbaro is like a sponsor, a Greek Orthodox friend or relative who has been an important part of our relationship. We have chosen the lovely Billy Bouzos to be our koumbaro. Colin and Billy have been close friends since high school Latin class, where they decided to start a ska-punk band together. Billy and I met at college, and instantly became good friends due to our mutual interests in music and all things Greek. Billy introduced us back in 2011, so it's only natural that he is up there with us on our big day.
