This sunset cruise will take you along Town Lake and end at the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge, home of the largest urban bat colony in the world! Make sure to get your tickets ahead of time. Bring a jacket, snacks, and whatever beverage you prefer. (For parking, use the Lady Bird Lake Lot next to the Hyatt. QR codes for payment are posted throughout the lot.)
To get there follow your GPS to 5300 N Capital of Texas Hwy. You'll see a line of cars parked on the right side of the road and that's where you can park too. Be warned, some of the steps are quite steep and the hike to the top will take about 10 minutes but the view is worth it.
Spend the day strolling SoCo and take a break from the heat at Güero's. We absolutely love this spot! Bonus points, they serve breakfast all day. Before you fill up on the chips and salsa, we recommend ordering the breakfast tacos with a side of chorizo.
There are multiple locations around town but no matter where you go make sure to order the Kerbey Queso! There's usually a wait so join the waitlist online ahead of your arrival to get in sooner. So many yummy choices but our favorite is the chicken and pancakes.
An essential part of the Austin experience. We recommend parking at the Lady Bird Lake Lot next to the Hyatt. Just scan the QR code posted in the lot to pay for parking. Head down to the trail and you'll see multiple locations to rent your paddle boards. Rates per person are generally $25/hour.
SoCo is filled with iconic spots to shop, eat, and snap a pic. For sweets, we recommend Big Top Candy Shop and Amy's Ice Cream. For eats, Hopdoddy Burger Bar, Home Slice, Aba (Mediterranean cuisine), and of course Güero's Taco Bar. There are lots of little shops to venture into but make sure to check out Tecovas (this is actually their first retail location). Lastly, it wouldn't be a trip to Austin without getting a picture in front of the I Love You So Much mural located on the side of Jo's Coffee.
