We're Getting Married

Who says you can’t find your “soulmate” online? Tim and Amanda did. On December 6, 2022, Tim came across Amanda’s profile and WOW! He clicked that “like” button and about an hour later, received a response back from Amanda. She had done some clicking of a “like” button herself. Fighting the urge to message Amanda immediately, Tim went to bed that night, with a quick prayer, turning the entire situation over to the Lord. The next morning, Tim messaged her and throughout the day exchanged more messages back and forth. By that evening Tim started to second guess the situation and doubted that Amanda would really want to meet him. But the next morning found Tim waking up to a message saying, “Let’s get off this app. Here’s my number." That’s when the real conversations began. Over the next month, the two exchanged messages every day. But, with the timing of Christmas and Tim visiting his family in California, they were not able to meet. They both say this was a blessing from God as it allowed them to get to know each other on a more casual basis. Then on January 1, 2023 (starting the New Year off just right) they went on their first official date. They went to a local steakhouse, where they talked for hours, and left when it was closing time. The rest they say…is history!

On Friday, July 28th, 2023, Amanda and Tim began a hiking adventure up to the top of Pikes Peak. They wanted to take another 14’r off their bucket list. The plan was to reach the summit as close to sunrise as possible. Unfortunately, the weather had other ideas. Starting out at 7 PM instead of the planned 3 PM, they were able to make it almost to the saddle of the mountain by 12:30 AM. Completely exhausted and knowing they were not going to make it to the top by sunrise, they set up camp, hoping to catch a couple of hours of sleep. At 3 AM, they resumed their hike, tired but determined to make it to the top. For Tim, with adrenaline rushing, excitement was building, for he knew what was in store when they reached the peak. Around 8 AM, the two weary and hungry hikers reached the summit of Pikes Peak with a true feeling of accomplishment. To Amanda’s surprise, her parents and Lily had driven up to meet them. While taking pictures to commemorate their accomplishment, Tim got down on one knee and asked his best friend and love of his life, to be his wife. Speechless and shocked, all Amanda could do was hold out her left hand to say “YES”! Then from out of the backpack he had carried with all his hiking gear, Tim pulled out two glasses and a bottle of wine, where they toasted their engagement and took even more pictures. But Tim still had one more thing to do. He had also carried in his backpack a Daddy/Daughter necklace, especially for Lily. He presented it to her wanting her to know, and be reminded for years to come, that he will always love her and be there for her, no matter what. So this is where OUR adventure begins.
