Question

Why the Dominican Republic?

Answer

We first travelled to the Dominican Republic in 2016 after Amanda's graduation from USF undergrad. We had the most amazing time traveling from Punta Cana to Santo Domingo and ending in Puerto Plata. The people of the DR are some of the kindest and most welcoming we have ever met. The sights, food, and history made this destination one we swore we would return to. Amanda then returned to a rural region of the DR twice in medical school to provide healthcare. When considering a destination wedding location, the DR was at the top of our list! We know you will enjoy this beautiful country and hope you will come to love it as much as we do!

Question

When do I RSVP? What if I can't make it?

Answer

All RSVP will be done through our website. Please confirm your attendance by March 22, 2025. If you already know you cannot attend now, we will miss you! Please indicate your regrets on our RSVP tab so we can plan accordingly.

Question

May I bring a plus one?

Answer

Many of our guests were invited as couples. If you were invited as a single guest, we have allotted for you to bring a plus one. Even if you are staying together, please note that every individual attendee will require a room reservation and all inclusive package in order to attend the wedding.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding and wedding events will be adults only. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time so that you can unwind & celebrate with us!

Question

When should we arrive?

Answer

We appreciate you making the trip to the Dominican Republic to celebrate with us! The official weekend is November 13-15, 2025. We recommend you arrive by Wednesday (11/12) if you can, so you have a chance to relax and explore the beauty of Casa de Campo. For the parents and wedding party, please arrive by Wednesday (11/12) for the rehearsal dinner.

Question

Is the hotel all-inclusive?

Answer

Casa De Campo gives all guests the option to choose whether or not they'd like to enjoy an all inclusive experience. The discounted room block we have reserved for guests includes is all-inclusive - this way you can just arrive and enjoy! If you decide you prefer a non-inclusive room, please note that you will need to arrange for your room through Casa de Campo separately. All additional food and drinks will be a la carte and the wedding guest perks and discounts (Things to Do) will not be included.

Question

Can we stay outside of Casa de Campo?

Answer

No, you must stay on the property of Casa de Campo in order to attend the Wedding festivities. We promise it will be worth it!

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

All hotel rooms will come with a golf cart! This is the major method of transportation around Casa de Campo! Renting a car is not necessary. For airport transfers, we recommend using the transportation arranged through Sue Allen, our Destination Weddings specialist. Please contact her (sallen@destinationweddings.com, 860-306-1136) to arrange transportation to and from the airport.

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes, you will need a passport to enter into the Dominican Republic. To be safe, please check your passports ASAP and renew your passport as soon as possible if necessary!

Question

Are there any customs forms I need to complete prior to entering the Dominican Republic?

Answer

The Dominican Republic has migrated its customs forms to a digital platform you will fill out in advance of your flight for both entering and leaving the country. Please note that the use of this platform is free and mandatory. We recommend completing it beforehand on your phone and taking a screenshot of your QR code for easy access. Please see the Travel tap for details.

Question

What is the currency in the Dominican Republic? Should I exchange dollars?

Answer

Currency in the Dominican Republic is pesos. If you're planning to spend all your time at Casa de Campo, you will be able to get by with your Credit Card and dollars, and there's no need to exchange pesos. If you need to exchange dollars to pesos, we recommend either using an ATM machine or the resort. The airport currency exchange booths never offer the best rate. Also, keep in mind that the exchange rate fluctuates daily, and at the moment of typing this answer (2/2023) the rate is $1USD = 58.65 Dominican pesos.

Question

How is the weather in La Romana?

Answer

The Dominican Republic has a tropical climate. The average temperature in La Romana in November for a typical day ranges from a high of 86°F to a low of 76°F. November is a beautiful time to visit the DR. Please make sure to pack your sunscreen!

Question

Should I drive my golf cart to the wedding events?

Answer

Transportation will be provided to the Wedding Ceremony, to the Reception, and back to the hotel in the evening. It is not recommended that you drive your golf cart as parking is very limited.
