ISLAND HACKS
Make sure you go to Deep Point (1301 Ferry Rd SE Southport, NC) not Fort Fisher ferry!
You can drop your tagged luggage (make sure it has your name & number on it) at the lower ferry terminal & then park. Remember where you park. Do not lose your ferry ticket- you will need the second one for your return. Do not lose your parking pass either. We always leave in cup holder of car. The ferry leaves on the hour & won’t wait for you! 😅
Once on the island, you will be assigned a tram after giving the attendant your island address. Wait for your luggage to be unloaded and then it will be put by you or the driver onto the tram.
Don’t forget to keep your golf cart charged. Also, remember what your golf cart looks like. It may have a name or number on the front. Take a photo just in case- lots of carts look alike.
And lastly, liquor isn’t sold on the island so hit up the ABC store in Southport on your way in! 😉
