We met online on a dating app. We started sending each other messages and we seemed to click. After a month or so we exchanged phone numbers. We texted mostly and talked on the phone sometimes. This continued for another month or so. Finally, we decided it was time to meet each other in person. We chose Wagner's Bowling Alley to meet up in Eau Claire, WI sometime mid May. He drove all the way from Madison, WI to meet me. We exchanged pleasantries and got to talking more. We really hit it off and starting dating. A FEW WEEKS LATER We are hanging out at Steven's apartment and I wasn't sure exactly what we were. I told him I liked being his "lady friend." I didn't want to say "girl" in case he thought I thought we were boyfriend/girlfriend. I did not want to mess this up. He asks me if I would be his girlfriend. That was June 1, 2015.

"It was our 3 Year Anniversary. After eating dinner we decided to go for a walk through the park by where we sometimes play tennis. We had never walked across the little bridge over the small middle section of the pond. We looked at the water and it was SO DIRTY! I couldn't believe fish were still alive in there. Steven wanted to get closer to one of the trees. I thought to myself he is being weird. We look at the tree and then I see birds sitting on the tall weeds so I decide to try to get a closer look. After a few minutes, Steven tries to redirect me to another tree. My first thought is, "This is an ugly tree." He is still acting weird so I decided to move to a different spot in the park. I notice he is not following me so I turn around. That is when I notice that his left pocket on his shirt is unbuttoned. We joke around and I try to grab at his pocket. He stops me and asks, "Are you sure that you are ready for your anniversary present?" I am like: duh! give it to me already! He takes a breath, quickly gets down on one knee and asks, "Will you marry me?" I am in complete shock. "Are you serious?" I ask him a few times. He keeps reassuring me that yes he is serious. I shout "YES!" and pull him up to give him a big kiss. I continued to ask him "Are you serious?" I was so excited I was bouncing around and talking fast. I had absolutely NO IDEA that he was going to propose!" -Amanda
