Long story short(ish)--it all started their freshmen year at Taylor University. Amanda only knew of Silas as "that guy that sings well in chapel and campus performances", and he knew her as "that girl that sits in front of me in chapel, that's kinda cute". It wasn't until later in the year that they officially met through a mutual friend. Only a few weeks went by until Silas showed interest after going to the movies with Amanda and some friends. Amanda wasn't sold at first, but through spending multiple hours together in the following days talking about their faith in God and the values they hold dear (many laughs were shared as well), Amanda was smitten with this blonde-haired, blue-eyed guy. They started dating the summer of that year - 2018 - and have grown with one another through short and long distance (we are talking thousands of miles at one point due to both Silas and Amanda traveling abroad for a combined totaled of 4 1/2 months!). They are so excited to pursue the covenant of marriage together, and look forward to having many close family and friends there to witness!
