Ticonderoga Golf Course opened its tee boxes in the Spring of 1926. Nearly a century later, TGC has both expanded and evolved, not only staying true to its North Country roots, but also with a vision toward the next 100 years. Nestled between the mountains bordering Lake George and the foothills of the Adirondack Park, TGC is known both as a fun and open course, while, at the same time, serving up challenging holes to the seasoned golfer.
Lake George is a town Mandy went to a lot growing up and is where Mandy & Scott took their engagement photos! On the shore, the Fort William Henry Museum & Restoration is a restored British fort, built in 1755. Nearby, Million Dollar Beach has picnic areas and a boat launch. The Prospect Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway offers views of the lake and the Adirondack High Peaks. Lake George is about 50 minutes south of The Barn.
Mandy & her parents absolutely love Lake Placid, and have been many times for Ironman Lake Placid. It's known as a Winter Olympics venue and a hub for snow sports and other outdoor pursuits. In the center of town, Mirror Lake has a trail around the shoreline. The Lake Placid Olympic Museum exhibits artifacts including team uniforms and medals. Lake Placid is about an hour northwest of The Barn.
Saratoga Springs is a hub for thoroughbred horse racing, it’s home to the Saratoga Race Course. The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame displays horse paintings and trophies. Saratoga Spa State Park includes mineral baths, a pool complex and the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, a landmark concert venue. Nearby, the Saratoga Automobile Museum exhibits vintage models and race cars. Saratoga is about an hour south of The Barn.
