Ryan and Amanda met in high school…probably. And by “met”, what we really mean is that they passed each other in the hallways of East Islip High School probably hundreds of times. Maybe they met at a 16th birthday party? However, only one can remember the other being there, and then thought nothing of it for another 7 years. Maybe they crossed paths at their sister’s 2017 East Islip High School graduation? Maybe Ryan didn’t realize at the time he actually saw his future wife walk at her very own graduation two years before because his other sister graduated the same year as her? Maybe the two jocks passed each other in their soccer and hockey uniforms at pep rally each year?Just kidding, East Islip considered ice hockey “a club sport” (if you know you know). Regardless, this isn’t a story of high school sweethearts. Amanda and Ryan would be the first to tell you they most likely would not have liked each other in high school. So it’s a very good thing they met when they did. Fast forward to the summer of 2020, we’re just getting out of our COVID quarantine era, which is certainly not the most ideal time to meet someone. But, all it took was one text to Ryan from Shannon Caturano with Amanda’s number in it, and the rest is history. Their first date in August of 2020 was at the beaches of Robert Moses, and three years later, they ended up getting engaged on the beaches of Curaçao in September of 2023. So it only makes sense to have their wedding at an aquarium in August of 2025 right?
